Wright’s Wood Local Nature Reserve

Great News - Stockport Nature Network have won funding from

Awards for All to help improve Wright’s Wood Local Nature

Reserve. Working with Stockport MBC and the local community, it

is hoped that this project will raise awareness of the site, improve

access to it and allow management of the woodland and pond to

maximise biodiversity benefits to the local area.

The project will begin on 25th January 2010, and will include:

Clearance of green waste and fly tipping from the site.

Woodland management, including the removal of non-native, invasive

species such as laurel and snowberry.

Improved signage and access to the site, including a board walk over wetter

areas.

(Jane Bardsley – 0161 428 5391) or the Nature Development Officer (Emma
